Additional Credentials

It is pertinent because this indicates that I’m recognized as a registered professional in the province of Alberta and that I have rules and regulations that I must uphold for the public. If I do not follow the rules and regulations, my license can be revoked.

It is also important to check if the professional you are seeing belongs to a college because it gives you assurance that they had to meet the standards of practice for this province in order to provide safe and effective counselling.

However, there are non-licensed professionals like life coaches, unlicensed therapists that don’t belong to a regulatory body but have a certification of practice. It is important that you do your own research to see if that is a fit for you and what you are seeking to explore in your life’s journey.

Unless otherwise mutually agreed upon for a longer session.

Personality fit is very important for effective counselling.

I have outlined my intake process here
